Scheduling

Book at least one week before we process your animal. When you book, tell us the type, age and size of each animal; custom or commercial; labeling requests; and whether you want patties, links or smoking. Processing times differ by animal, and we plan the schedule around them. We may refuse an animal that arrives much larger or smaller than booked. If you need a later drop-off, ask.

Cancellations

Tell us about cancellations or changes at least 14 days before your appointment; other customers are waiting for earlier dates. Cancellations with less notice are charged the slaughter and rendering fee for each animal. For more than 6 animals we need 21 days notice and hold a credit card on file.

Cut sheets

A cut sheet is required at drop-off. Without one there is a $25 fee, and the plant will decide how to cut and pack the animal; those choices can’t be changed afterward. Lambs, sheep and goats are processed within a few days, so we need their cut sheets for scheduling. Fill out your cut sheet online.

Special requests we can usually accommodate if you ask in advance: lean-to-fat ratio and coarse or fine grind for ground beef; organic seasonings (order ahead); small or large links; patties; fresh or frozen; packing and boxing requests.

  • Offal (heart, liver, tongue) must pass USDA inspection and is not guaranteed.
  • To keep a cow, lamb or sheep hide, tell us at drop-off. Keeping hides, heads, horns or feet adds a slaughter fee for the extra time. Hides are skinned as well as we can but may have slits and holes.
  • Cattle skin and viscera are the property of the plant.
  • We do not accept cattle with horns over 32 inches tip to tip, or with a hindquarter taller than 6 feet.
  • For age-dependent cuts or labels, bring documentation with the tag number and date of birth of each animal.

Seasonings and processing requests

We are an allergen-free facility and our seasonings are allergen free. If you want to use your own seasoning, it must be allergen free and come with a letter of guarantee from the supplier. Special processing requests (seasoning, smoking) are due before your appointment. Additional processing and shipping requests may carry extra fees.

Label claims

All claims on labels must be approved by USDA. We can submit the paperwork for claims such as organic (if you are certified), grass fed, no hormones administered, Angus or Wagyu for $250.

Animal drop-off

Drop off between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m. on your slaughter day unless we have made other arrangements. Animals arriving after 6:00 a.m. may be refused or billed additional slaughter fees of $150 per hour late. Wait for one of our trained employees to help unload. Bring a proper trailer; if unloading is unsafe for the animal, we will ask you to return with one. Animals without an appointment will not be accepted.

Turnaround and pickup

Processing takes a minimum of 3 days and depends on the time of year. Finished product is ready for pickup Monday to Thursday, 10–11 a.m. or 2–3 p.m.; please schedule your pickup in those windows, or call to arrange another time. We ask for one pickup per customer.

Product not picked up and paid for in full within 5 days of our call is forfeited and becomes property of the plant, and slaughter and processing fees are charged to the card on file.

Processing concerns

Please check your order as soon as you receive it. Raise any processing concern with management within 5 business days; we review every concern and decide how to make it right. We can’t accommodate concerns after 5 business days.

Payment and responsibility

Payment is due in full at pickup. Credit and debit cards carry a $3.00% fee. The producer who owns, brings and schedules the animal is responsible for the full bill, including when the meat has been sold to other buyers.

Trucking

We do not pick up or haul animals, but we can recommend a trucker.
